Background:

The Modernization Acceleration team under the common components is relatively new. Arlen started in March 2022 with Joanne, Kaegan, Jacklynn, and Tejiri joining in June/July 2022.

• Through some team-forming workshops the team worked out some the why & how of their work together. (Mural board). But it will evolve and change as we work together.

Our Vision is to model sustainable digital transformation across product teams.

Our mission is to work together in ways informed by research to continuously deliver value to people in BC.

• Common Components Program Proposal & Final Report - v8 → To learn more about the common components project initiative

• As of June 2022, our current focus is on understanding how http://digital.gov.bc.ca could be used to expand the capacity of the Exchange Lab to help ministries with their modernization efforts. We would be working on the third iteration of this website

Digital.gov rough timeline

• Spring 2019: OCIO wanted to showcase case studies for OCIO Connect conference.

  • GDX was the owner, launched wordpress version of the site, mostly case studies(web archive)

• 2019: Handoff to new team Exchange Lab do more research on how to build out the site for internal public service, increasing scope.

  • The second, current, version was launched using a headless Wordpress instance (React frontend, Mongo DB, Strapi CMS). (justification)

• 2021: V2 Launch prep & approvals. Previously GCPE approval was needed. May/June 2021 launch

  • Team continued working on it, DIO wanted to be included in digital.gov

• 2022: Audit began, team work paused. DPDD report🔐 to evaluate the communication efforts, including Digital.gov

• June 2022: Project moved to Digimod team
