The vision and mission guide the team’s purpose, goals, and how they will be achieved. 

Steps: 

  1. Define the Purpose: 

  • Why does the team exist, and what value does it deliver? 

  • Align with organizational goals like the Digital Plan or Code of Practice. 

  1. Identify Core Values: 

  • Examples: Innovation, collaboration, user-centered design. 

  1. Draft the Vision Statement: 

  • Vision reflects the long-term aspiration. 

  • Template: “Our team strives to [goal] by [approach] to deliver [impact].” 

  • Example: “We create user-centered digital services that exceed client expectations.” 

  1. Draft the Mission Statement: 

  • Mission focuses on how the vision will be achieved. 

  • Template: “Our mission is to [specific action or process] to [deliver value or achieve goals] in [a specific way].” 

  • Example: “Our mission is to collaborate across teams, leveraging innovative tools and user feedback, to deliver digital solutions that drive measurable client outcomes.” 

  1. Get Consensus: 

  • Facilitate discussions to ensure all team members agree and feel ownership of both the vision and mission.
